I am so sorry to hear about this bells' palsy. One of the common causes is infection with herpes and valacyclovir is actually intended to help with this. I will also add that you do physical therapy to regain full control. Put on goggles, use artificial tears and always keep the eyes well lubricated and away from dust and direct sunlight.
