Question: I have been taking different medications for over 2yrs none worked, just rollercoastered 190/110 to80/60. so last week Dr changed me to Norvasc. My BP has been normal. Last tue. woke up dizzy and with fever, BP still fine . Thursday night starting hearing drumming in my head. Today, Saturday I woke up BP was high and heart rate has been between 100 and 145. should I be worried. All other symtoms are gone. I read that heart palpatations are normal when you start this medication.

Brief Answer:
Need an ECG unless there is a fever

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,

If you still have fever it can be related to it.
You should find out the reason and treat.

In case there is no fever, I would advise you to have an ECG done. Sometimes mild elevation in heart rate can be observed when one strarts to take Norvasc. But heart rate of 100-145 is not common, so arrhythmias should be excluded.

Wishing you good health
