Brief Answer:
rinse with mouthwash

Detailed Answer:
hello and thanks for writing in.

Plica fimbriata is a fold of the mucous membrane on the underside of the tongue which runs laterally on either side of the frenulum.

sometimes it becomes inflamed due to local irritation from:

~sharp edged tooth
~chewing of tobacco
~smoking

there is nothing serious to worry about.just rinse your mouth with a good antiseptic mouthwash.
stop intake of tobacco in any form if you have the habit.
Maintain good oral hygiene.

For soreness Topical anesthetic gel like Oragel can be applied.

Keep a watch and I hope the condition condition will get resolved in 5-7 days. if problem persists then I would advice you to visit a dentist for clinical examination.

Hope this answers your query.
Take care
