What Cause A Prominent Vein On The Penis?
Question: Hello, I am wanting to ask a question relating to a varicose vein I have on my penis. I am 47 yrs old and have noticed that it has been there for about 12 months. It's not painful 'at all', and when the penis is flaccid it's barely visible. (most of the time). When the penis is erect it is sometimes not visible either.
When I am with my partner sexually it depends on the length of time together, and how intense the intimacy is as to whether, 1) the vein bulges out quite visually and feels hard to the touch, and 2) whether it continues to bulge out more so than normal the next day. (The location is just below the head of the penis on the upper side).
If it's not causing any real discomfort, but is a little unsightly to touch after sex, is it worthy of investigation and or treatment? Is there any treatment?
Is there anyway to help prevent the vein from bulging?

My concern lays with the fact that the vein in question usually subsides completely after sexual activity.
Recently after being with my partner I have noticed that the vein is still rather prominent and swollen even when flaccid, and wasn't like that prior.
Also when the skin is pulled tight the underlying colour is whitish not blue which I have read would constitute a vein. Could this possibly be Lymphangiosclero?

When the skin is pulled up tight, it'll take a little longer, to drain off.
Don't think of any complicated diseases. This is a normal phenomena.
