Brief Answer:
Neurologist's opinion, careful clinical review

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

The symptoms you are experiencing are generally termed symptoms of a peripheral neuropathy, meaning inflammation of periphery nerves.

The causes are numerous, the main and most common being seen in diabetes, poisoning with certain drugs, fertilizers or foods. lack of specific vitamins, especially those of the Vitamin B group could predispose to experiencing these symptoms. Inflammation of blood vessels, generally called vasculitis, could produce such manifestations. some viral infections as seen in HIV could produce this type of sensation you are experiencing. the causes are quite numerous as cited above, and a careful evaluation, preferably by a neurologist could be required, first to identify the cause, and then suggest an appropriate treatment regimen.

As you await to see a neurologist, drugs like supplementation in Vitamin B, Amitiptriline and at times, the anti epileptic drugs like Gabapentin and Tegretol could be useful and offer help in some groups of patients.

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
