What Casues Increased Heart Rate?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Dec 2014
Question: Hi
My heart is often racing. I usually give excuses to drinking coffee etc. Today I didn't drink any coffee and checked my heart rate while sitting and it's 122. I feel edgy and tired. I don't exercise. I take zoloft 175mg every morning.
Do I need to get it checked or is it normal?

Brief Answer:
You need to consult doctor.

HI

Thanks for posting your query

A resting heart rate of 122 is definitely not normal, it is either due to some problems in heart or problems in other part of the body.
Non cardiac causes are – Anemia, Thyroid disorders, Adrenal Disorders, Certain Vitamin deficiency.
I advise you to consult doctor for the evaluation of the cause of fast heart rate. You need to get these following tests done and revert back.
Complete Hemogram, Serum TSH, 24 hour Urinary catecholamines , Treadmill test.

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
