Brief Answer:
Depends on the drug name and dose

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
The effect of double dose will depend on the type of drug and dosage taken. Please let me know the drug name, dose taken and any symptoms that you are having so that I am better able to help you.

You can get your BP & pulse checked at intervals of 1-2 hours. Most of the anti-hypertensive drugs are long acting and effects are slow. However drug of beta blocker group may slow the heart rate. Wait and watch.

If you develop symptoms, get in touch with your treating doctor.

Brief Answer:
Excessive urination etc

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You will have excessive urination due to double dose of Hctz and giddiness if blood pressure falls low, particularly on standing (effect of valsartan & Hctz ).

You can take some salt tablet (1-2) today if BP is below 100/60 mm hg.

Brief Answer:
Resuming B P Pills

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You resume your BP pills after 24 hours but check your BP prior to that.If your BP is well below 140/90 mm hg,you can skip the dose. If it is above 140/90 mm hg,take BP pills as usual.
Salt tablet can be obtained over the counter e.g tablet Sodamint (Sodium bicarbonate - the active ingredient).
