What Are The Symptoms Of Shingles?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: Hello. My husband had a case of shingles in August of this year. Yesterday, he said he had that strange sensation in his head and right eye again but this time it is slightly less in pain intensity. We also have not seen any lesions break out on his forehead and right eye like last time. He is dragging his feet about the Dr. visit because he is not confident it is Shingles again or just a headache. I would like him to go in because it could be Shingles, again. What is your recommendation?

Brief Answer:
Difficult for this to be shingles, he needs to be calm and watchful. No wo

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

It had for me to think it should be shingles again. Generally, during recurrence with this infection, we expect to see lesions (pimples or skin lesions) before an accompanying pain. I am afraid other conditions should be sought to explain this feeling.

Maybe excess work, stress, checking of blood pressure, eye conditions if he has any past history of eye disease should evaluated. If not, being calm and taken simple analgesics like Acetaminophen could be enviable initial measures. But he just needs to watchful for intensification of the pain, development of skin lesions of additional new symptoms to report to a doctor.

If not, at this point in my humble opinion, I think it s too early to worry.

Thanks and kind regards,

Dr Bain
