Brief Answer: Will describe one at a time Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX 1. Past medical history: Heart surgey at age 1 for valve repair Diagnosis: Liver Failure Liver failure happens when the liver fails to do its job. Liver has a good capacity to regenerate (grow) back to normal. But if it doesnot then liver transplantation is an option. 2. Diagnosis: Sub acute intestinal obstruction It means that bowels got obstructed at some point and the condition happened over the period of days to weeks. Signs and symptoms are related to digestion. It is usually diagnosed with tests like ultrasound or CT scan of abdomen and is handled by a surgeon. 3. Past medical history: a. Diverticulitis Diverticulitis means inflammation (rednes and swelling) of diverticulum (outpouchings on lower part of bowel). Signs and symptoms include pain in lower part of abdomen, constipation etc. Treated with antibiotics. b. Gall stne Gall stone means stones in gall bladder. These can cause symptoms like pain in right upper abdomen, indigestion, etc. Handled by a surgeon either conservatively or surgically. c. Hiatus Hernia Hiatus hernia is an outpouching of intestines around the umbilical region. Symptom is mostly a visible swelling near umbilicus. It is also handled by a surgeon. d. Prostate CA Prostate ca is cancer of prostate gland located in the male urinary tract. Its cancer can cause symptoms like weight loss, malaise, weakness, swelling of prostate gland and urinary symptoms like incomplete emptying of bladder etc. It is treated with many anticancer agents and surgery. e. Glaucoma Glaucoma is raised pressure of fluids inside the eye. It is of two main types and treated according to the type with some eye drops etc. Symptoms are mostly pain in eye and sign is raised pressure on tonometry. f. TIA TIA is transient ischemic attack. It means that blood supply to some part of brain got hampered for sometime. Usually happens due to blockage of a blood vessel to the brain. It may cause symptoms like transient blurry vision, weakness of some muscle etc. The aim of treatment is to find the cause and treat it. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee
