Brief Answer:
Gout starts with pain in great toe

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think you want to know symptoms of Gout. Following are symptoms.
1.Pain in great toe or other joints with red hot appearance of skin over joint.
2.Usually pain starts after a high protein diet or alcohol binge.
3.Pain relieves after NSAID like Brufen.
Usually if pain is in hand then chances of Gout is very less. You must look for other diagnosis like Rheumatoid arthritis or Psoriasis. If all other diagnosis is ruled out and Gout is proved with x rays and synovial analysis of joint fluids then treatment needs to be started.
1.If uric acid is high then you need to take Xyloric tablet one to two daily.
2.Brufen or Piroxicam for pain.
3.Colchicin tablet is given if pain is not controlled by NSAIDS.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
