What Are The Symptoms Of A Broken Bone In The Foot?

Question: How do I know if bone on top of foot is broken? I dropped a heavy object on it a week ago. There is only a slight bruise and the swelling is gone. But today it won't stop tingling not numb just constant tingle what does that mean?

Thanks for your query.

If the foot is broken, it is very painful to walk. There is too much swelling and it is tender(painful) to touch. If there is any doubt , then best way is get an x-ray done.

Tingling could be due to injury to superficial nerve fibers. It will go off gradually as the healing occurs.

It's not painful to walk on. Nor painful to the touch trying to avoid X-ray costs if not needed. I have had a broken foot in the past the 5th metatarsal but this is top of foot upper part away from toes.

What are consequence of no X-ray if it is broke?

Does tingling indicate healing? It has been 8 days since accident occurred.

From description it seems to be soft tissue injury ,not broken bones.
If it is broken bone, it needs immobilization.
