What Are The Symptoms Of HIV?

Question: I am 29 years old 5 foot 10 around 190 pounds. I had unprotected sex on July 8th 2013 with a women. We had sex 20 times up to October 6th. She was tested on August 1st 2013 for HIV and tested negative. I tested for HIV October 16 2013 and January 20th 2014 and tested negative both times. My concern is she lied about alot and I am unsure if she was having sexual intercourse with other men. It is now March 22nd 2014 and for the past few days I have seen about 10 red bumps near my neck next to my shoulder acouple red bumps on my chest. Also having issues trouble breathing but unsure if its do to my anxiety which I have. and when I have been swallowing lately I have been hearing a popping noise in my ears, and for the past few months I have had a gagging feeling in my throat, but E.N.T doctor told me that was do to acid reflux. And I have had 4 outbreaks since October 20th 2013 of herpes on my butt cheek. Which my doctor told me was herpes. Is this all of a coincedence or should I be highly concerned of HIV infection. I went to see a dermatologist about the bumps and she didnt seem concerned at all about them. I told her everything I just typed and she still didnt seem concerned. Basically my whole life I have had a phobia about HIV. And also I have been muscle aches but I dont know if that is anything, mostly my knees have been hurting. And the second HIV test I got in January was after my second outbreak on my butt and it came back negative. Im just trying to relax myself but I never can. Im pretty sure no matter how many HIV tests i get I will never be satisfied. Also my neck was very sore for a few days about 5 days ago, and I cant remember if I did anything to it for being sore, and it was only sore in the front. The red bumps on or near my neck really dont itch at all and Im not sure what a definition of a rash is but its not really red where the bumps are but the bumps themselves are red. Im only concerned because of an HIV rash, but I know myself and I could really be stretching here. Everytime I get sick or or something happens I instantly think HIV. After my second test if it was going to be positive would it have been ? I mean she was tested in August of 2013 and I was tested October 2013 and January 2014 and all negative, should that be enough to keep peace of mind ? Thank you so much for reading

Brief Answer: there is always a concern Detailed Answer: there is always a concern of HIV transmission during unprotected sex, particularly if you already got herpes during the mentioned relationship. The fact that you tested negative in january is good, if the last unprotected sexual contact was in october (which would make it approximately 3 months after). HIV testing is usually positive after 2-3 weeks of acquiring the infection. very rarely it takes up to 6 months, and for this reason i suggest you getting re-tested as soon as possible, and preferably with blood test. use protection in the meantime for sexual intercourse, and thereafter! the symptoms you describe are unlikely to be related to hiv. In any case it is more likely to be related to the herpes itself, or as your ENT physician doctor said, it could just be acid reflux + anxiety. Go an internal medicine physician to get a complete exam, and further testing as necessary. hopefully that helped. let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I know you cant see the bumps on my chest so its hard to judge, but maybe by describing them you could tell me why that it is not related to HIV ? what does an HIV rash feel and look like if you know ? also what makes you say that what I am describing sounds unlikely to be related to HIV ? and I also forgot to mention the women stated to me she got seen and tested for everything again in November of 2013 and everything came back negative. My real concern is my initial sexual contact with her back in July not in October, because the man prior to me who she was sleeping with slept with quite a few women, so I guess my real question is from all of these HIV negative tests that her and I took and the time frame from when her and I first started having sex in July would it have shown up by one of those if either of us were positive ? her last intercourse with him before her and I started was in may of 2013 so her test in August was 3 months after that then she was retested in November and I was Tested in October and then again 8 months later in January. Sorry for pry repeating myself over and over. But just trying to get as detailed as possible.

Brief Answer: See below Detailed Answer: the rash from hiv is very mild and it can vary. usually it appears shortly after infection (1-3 months), so you are past tgat point. the other symptoms you described have nothing to do with hiv. the reason i told you to get checked one more time is because your last sexual contact with her was october. you can never know if she had sex with somebody else for example the day before, therefore spreading the virus. hope that answered your question.
