What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Vitamin And Mineral Deficiencies?

default
Posted on Thu, 5 Nov 2015
Question: I broke my arm and hand over 8 weeks ago. It has been a slow healing process. Then right after the surgery on my hand, I had a gallbladder attack. Another surgery within a week of each other. After I had my gallbladder removed, I have ached all over. It first started in my legs and now is all over. I can't hardly move without hurting. Every am I do take a multi vitamin, but I also feel tired by the end of the day. I do try to get 7 to 8 hours of sleep, but I'm finding that I'm not getting a good sleep. I sit at a desk all day and I am trying to get up every hour to walk around some. It helps a little bit. I do try to walk in the evenings when I get home, but can't always. I have been to a chiropractor several times to keep my hips lined out. It helps a little. What could be causing the achiness and seems to be tight muscles?

Brief Answer:
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Balanced diet needed. No junk

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

It is possible that you have certain vitamin and nutrient deficiencies. Also less intake of water can cause the same.

I advise you to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Acid junk food, oily food, smoking, alcohol.

Continue brisk walking for 45 minutes daily which will work wonders to improve your circulation.

Kindly get tested for complete blood count and Serum Vitamin D3 levels as deficiency of this can cause these symptoms.

Kindly follow up with me in this regard.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thank you for your answer. I drink 3 to 4 16 oz bottles of water per day, never smoked, don't drink but on occiational, no fried foods since my Gallbladder Surgery. A friend had suggested a vitamin deficiency. I'll go with that one...

How would I know what vitamin & mineral deficiency without blood test as that is on the expensive side where I live in Wyoming.

Blood tests expensive

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

You can do a Serum Vitamin D3 blood test to look for Vitamin D deficiency and also Serum Vitamin B levels blood test but they will be expensive.

You can take a trial of these nutrients for a month and also follow the tips and precautions and look for improvement.

I hope I have answered your query.

I have decided to go and get the blood work done. They will send the results to my regular Dr. I will still continue to drink plenty of water, eat my morning fruit bowl for breakfast and salad for lunch. Continue walking and try to get out everyday after work.

Thank you for your advise.

Thank you for your advise. I feel that I am on the right track. I am scheduled for next week for the blood draw/work. In the meanwhile, a little extra vitamin D3 won't hurt.
