Hi I have had a burning pain across the top of my back for at least a month - it is sporadic and on a scale of 1 to 10 the pain is intense at 8. I did not take medication until two days ago. I took 200mg of Advil three times the first day, but it did not do much to take the pain away. Yesterday I took 325mg four times and it seems to help more, but I am afraid it might damage some of my organs. How long should I take the aspirin? Will it heal the inflammation if that is the problem?

* Long term use of aspirin on regular basis might cause gastric ulcer or other
problems depending upon the duration of consumption .

* Recommended not to consume beyond some days without advise of doctor .

* It is having anti inflammatory action , but without diagnosis of the condition
and advantages for particular condition , should not predict healing of existing
inflammation to that perfection .

* Additionally , always take aspirin after food and preferably with antacid as
ranitidine ( 150 mg ) .

When I wrote that I took 325mg - I omitted the word Aspirin. In the past two days I have been taking 325mg of Aspirin four times a day with food, and I am getting some relief from the pain across my upper back and shoulders. I will continue the
Aspirin for a few more days, and if the pain does not go away I will see a doctor.

- Local application of analgesic spray or ointment with diclofenac and menthol .
- Exercises involving shoulder movements and upper back with smooth action .

- Lavender oil drops rubbing 3 times a day for 5 minutes each .

Thank you so much for the info. I have stopped the Aspirin - I do not need the possible side effects. I have started massage treatments and warm baths which are helping. Will continue until the pain goes away.
