What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia?

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Feb 2017
Question: I am a male 73 YOA. I have been experiencing localized pain in my lower right ventral abdomen near the top of my right hip. This has been getting gradually worse over the past several months. It seems to be worst when I have been sitting or lying for a period of time. It can be very painful when I stand and start to walk. It becomes less painful after I walk for a while. I was staying at a motel in CA for my 55th high school reunion and I stumbled on the threshold of the door when I was leaving. I came down on my right knee, but I don't know if that is the root of the problem. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
May be fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/73 - stumbled on the threshold of the door - came down on knee - pain right lower ventral abdomen near top of right hip - several months - worst when sitting or lying for a period of time - very painful on standing or walking - less painful after a while ...
As per the history you have provided this looks to be local fibromyalgia that continues due to its typical position as it can not be given full rest.
I would advise you the following:
Get a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations if required by your Doctor and get a reference to the Specialist if your GP thinks so. This will give exact diagnosis and hence the best possible solution to your problem lingering for so long.

I hope, this answer helps you.
