Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: Hello, i had unprotected sex with my partner a few weeks ago. Now i have develop a minor rash on the inside of my elbow (picture attached). It is not painful, but slightly itchy if irritated. It is slowly fading away. I also have a few other symptoms like tiredness, body ache at times, but this might be due to tiredness due to lots of work and poor diet. And i have experienced this for a while before too. I also have a sore throat, but i am very prone to throat problems anyway. When we had sex he did not cum inside me. Wht do you think the chances are i caught hiv? As far as he is aware he does not have it however he has never tested. I am going for a test tomorrow, just wantsd to know what your thoughts were?

Brief Answer:
Explanation is given below.....

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for trusting to us your health issue.

I understand your concern but this minor rash haven't relation with HIV.
HIV haven't any specific signs and symptoms and it doesn't appear after you have had an unprotected intercourse.
HIV appear it's signs and symptoms about 10 years after infection.
Hence don't worry.

You will do very good tested for HIV .

Rash on that area can be due to any contact dermatitis .
Hence it will disappear by itself.
If it will appear another times than you should contact a dermatologist to see who is the reason for that rush.

Being tired and sore throat may be due to lots of work and weak immunity while you doesn't take enough vitamins.
Hence try to be hydrated (take much more water ) and vitamins rich foods.

All the best

I have read that you can get rashes a few weeks after infection? Or are there no symptoms at all after infection? Thank you so mcuh for your help
