Question: I am newly detected for type 2 diabetes.i am taking Glycomet 500 after lunch and dinner.
My sugar levels are now 105 fasting and 135 pp.weather it is necessary to continue the dose as it is or should it be reduced?
Secondly is there any side effect of Glycomet 500

Hi Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

You need to continue the same dose of prescribed Glycomet 500 .

This dose is used for maintenance of the blood glucose within normal range.

The side effects of Metformin are minimal.

In few cases it can cause,bloating sensation and nausea.

On long term use it can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Hence It is recommended to take tab Matilda ER once a day every alternative day for 3 months to prevent the dosage.

Consult your doctor with regards to above.
