What Are The Side Effects Of Overdosing On Prednisone Steroids?
Question: is is possible for you to give a prescription over the web ? my 85 year old father with COPD has a chest infection which is currently being treated with antibiotics and prednisone steroids 5mg . Anyway he was to take 6 on day 1 , 6 day 2 , 4 on day 3&4 , then 2 on day 5 & 6 .He took 6 yesterday and only tonight I discover he took the remaining 18 all in one go ? While I dont think this is going to be a major cause for concern and he is fine. I dont think he should not have any tomorrow as I know its important to reduce them ?

Welcome to HCM: Please note that I would not give him anymore even if you had some left,the dose he took may cause his blood sugar to spike, but he should be okay, look out for agitation and restlessness as steroids may do this. I would call your doctor and ask for a refill, it is not a big deal if he does not get his doses tomorrow, just make sure that your doctor knows what has happened. I hope this helps and good luck.
