Question: I'm concerned about the "safety" of soy ingredients in supplements. I see more all the time and realize it is an inexpensive filler and an increasing popularity for farmers as a crop.
Is soy harmful when an ingredient in supplements.? At this time I want an astaxanthin supplement w/o soy.

Brief Answer:
Soy is not "harmful" as a filler unless you have gluten sensitivity

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I understand your concern with fillers in your supplements. There are supplements without fillers. There are several undesirable fillers in supplements of which soy is the least to worry about. However, locating them can be a challenge.

I see you are gluten sensitive. Many supplements contain gluten, another reason to stay away from fillers.

I can list some brands that don't contain fillers. I know for certain that Pure Encapsulations does not contain soy fillers. So, they are out there. Pure Encapsulations is a professional brand. I can give you a code to be able to purchase them or you can do a search for supplements without soy.

The code for Pure Encapsulations at www.pureencapsulations.com is 28116. It has virgin olive oil in a gelatin cap and use this only if you cannot find another supplement without soy or gluten. I think if you do a search for " supplements without fillers" you will find many choices.

Please do not share this code if you decide to use it. Good luck and I hope I have answered your question. If not please write back for clarifications or rate and close out. Thank you for visiting HCM. XXXXXXX Shattler, MS,RDN

Hi, I have coeliac disease and have been adhering to a gluten free diet for about a year now since I was diagnosed. I ve always had a problem with fatigue and had attributed it to the coeliac disease; however, now that I m on a gluten free diet I had thought that might alleviate it - it hasn t. I can sleep anywhere from 5 to 15 hours a night and always have the same lethargy, despite trying different sleeping patterns, drowning myself in coffee, having B12 injections , and doing awake things like getting out and about. Is there anything you could recommend to make me less sleepy all the time?

I had stomach pains which felt like gas a week ago. I also had a lot of burping. I ate a lot of raw vegetables that night, along with a lobster roll.I also normally do not eat a lot of wheat gluten . I have had normal bowel movements all week. I have a small bruise in the area where the pains were. It still feels like stitch in that area. My stomach was hard and distended. I also have some pressure when I urinate. It does feel better than before but it is not completely gone. What could it be?

I have Epilepsy and Celiac Disease and it is very difficult to find gluten-free drugs that are generic (because of my co-pay/generic) that don t have gluten in them and when I do some places say that their distributing warehouse says it is N/A. I have tried YYYY@YYYY to them to get a certain drug in but yet no results.
