Brief Answer:
Primosa 1000mg can be given after consulting doctor depending on indication

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Primosa capsule contains evening primrose oil 1000 mg.

2. Primosa is given to patients for rheumatic arthritis, diabetic neuropathy, atopic dermatitis, breast pain, menopausal flushing symptoms, multiple sclerosis and other conditions.

3. The recommended dose of Primosa between 6 and 8 g/day in adults and 2 and 4 g/day in children and therefore you can give it to your daughter at 1000 mg one capsule daily as recommended by your doctor depending on the indication. Duration of primosa depends on the indication and it can safely be given for 5 to 8 months in children for various conditions. Please discuss dose and duration with her doctor.

4. Side effects include low blood pressure, increased risk of bleeding, allergy, abdominal pain, seizures, anxiety, diarrhea, headache, vomiting, irregular menstruation, itching, skin problems, respiratory infections, inflammation and many others. Therefore use of this medicine is under recommendation of the doctor in case of children.

5. Primosa should not be given to people who have seizure or bleeding disorders. Primosa should not be given during pregnancy and breast feeding in women.

Hope your query is answered.

1. Primosa 1000 mg can be taken for up to 10 months in patients having pre menstrual symptoms if there is no obvious side effects.

2. If you and your daughter have had no side effects and your periods are regular then the medicine is working for you.

3. You can choose to discontinue this medicine for sometime and watch if your periods are continuing to be normal. If it is normal then no need of taking this medicine. If abnormal then you can take for few months under recommendation of your doctor.
