Question: I have been experencing discomfort when I eat, i believe it is esophagitis. I am prescribed vyvanse, will I have a bad side effect if i continue taking vyvanse?

I can understand your concerns. Drug vyvanse is used for attention deficit disordee. It has varied side effects on various system of our body especially gastrointestinal tract system.
Among gi side effects it causes abdominal pain, reduce motility of gastrointestinal tract leading to hyperacidity and loss of apetite
When yiu are saying that you feel that you have oesophigits, it may happen with vyvanse as explained above. Your symptoms maY be heartburns, chest pain.
I will suggest you to take a proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole along with a prokinetic agent like domperidone. It will help in relieving your symptoms of oeaophagitis. Meanwhile also avoid spicy and fatry meal tea and coffee. Avoid lying down and water with meals at least for 2 hrs
Also discuss with your doctor regarding this side effect of vyvanse whenever you get next appointment

My question is can I proceed to taking vyvanse, its a necessity in my life so I wouldn't want to discontinue use but if its a major health problem/ side effect then I would. s
