What Are The Side Effects Of Solian?

default
Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: Hello,
I was on Solian (amisulpride) 100 mg until two weeks ago and it caused a strange OCD like symptom, so my psychiatrist decided to change and i am now on Zyprexa (since two weeks ago), 5 mg. I am feeling better but i was told that i have to wait up to 4 weeks to see the improvement with Zyprexa. I feel better but i would like to know if after two weeks Solian is gone (including effects on 5ht7 and 5ht2b and dopaminergic effect), or if i have to wait more for it (the fight of Zyprexa against bad Solian effects), and if the full benefit of Zyprexa can come before four weeks or after these four weeks.
Thanks beforehand

Brief Answer:
wait for two more weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.

Solian is almost gone from the system in 3 days.
Zyprexa attains its steady state plasma concentration in one week.

Most patients usually start to respond in two weeks of starting the drug. Some may take upto 4 weeks to respond.

I think solian must be out of your system by now. So no question of fighting its bad effects till now.
You are taking zyprexa since last two weeks and feel better. In my opinion, you should continue with the same dose for two more weeks and observe if the effects increase.

Consider a dose increment after that (depending on the response) after discussing with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
