Question: Hi. Are there any dangerous side effects related to the uses of rilutek as an ALS patient? for example, violence, aggression, suicidal thoughts.

Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

Rilutek(Riluzole) does not have side effects like violence/aggression/suicidal thoughts.
These symptoms can not be attributed to the ALS also.
So kindly go for a psychiatric evaluation so that we can find out the exact cause and treat accordingly.

Common side effects associated with Riluzole include asthenia, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discofort, annorexia, somnolence etc.
But, most patients will tolerate the drug well and continue it without trouble-you need not worry.

Also, rarely this drug can cause neutropenia and infections. So report to your doctor if you feel fever or other signs of infections.
