default
Posted on Thu, 2 Feb 2017
Question: Thanks to HCM staff for the follow up SMS and the email from Dr Ilir Sharka. I stopped Nebivolol and now I am not taking any antihypertensive drugs. My BP is about 140/80 and HR is 78 to 80. Also, I am not taking any ED drugs because I am scared from their possible side effects. Which one of these ED drugs carries the least harmful effects?

I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

I am glad to hear from you again on HCM!

I understanding your concern and would explain that you have no limitations to ED and you can use all of them (Viagra, Cialis or Levitra).

Levita is the only one which does interact with nebivolol, but as you are not taking it any more, there is nothing to be concerned of.

Your actual blood pressure and heart rate values are within the normal ranges.

From the other hand, these drugs have a vasodilator effect, and may cause a temporary decrease in your blood pressure values, which would be perfectly tolerated considering your actual bp values.

Some palpitations may occur with every one of these drugs, but they are not concerning.

So, I would conclude that you are allowed to use whichever drug you prefer from this class of drugs.

If you have any other uncertainties, please don't hesitate to ask me again!

Best wishes,

Dr.Iliri
