What Are The Side Effects Of Lexapro?
Question: lexapro was upped to 25mgs from 20mgs.. getting side effects.. shaking, anxiety, feeling werid out of it.. when will the subside.. my doctor upped it to try to suppress the racing obessessive thoughts.. I have severe panic anxiety disorder.. also on klonopin .5mgs 2x a day n neurotin 200mgs 3x a day. n remron 15mgs for sleep..
do u have any patients on this dose and has it måde a difference? is this normal to feel side effects with an upped doseage..?

I can understand your concern. In severe OCD the doses of even more than 40 mg per day are used and a lot of patients show improvement in symptoms in high dose. But increasing the dose result in increased risk of side effects but fortunately acute side effects usually go in about 7-10 days in most individuals.
In my clinic I usually prefer Fluoxetine over Escitalopram for severe OCD patient. But I am using Escitalopram in dose of about 25 mg in a patient of mine and he is doing good. The side effects like reduced libido and delayed ejaculation are resulting in distress in his case. In females apart from acute side effects delayed orgasm might be observed.
When even the dose of any SSRI increased its normal to see worsening of symptoms for first few days. In most individuals the symptoms subside by own in about a week. So remain relaxed, in some days you will develop tolerance to the side effects of upped dose.
