What Are The Side Effects Of Fluoxetine?

Question: hi.. i am 35 male.. and undergone hypocondriasis treament two tyms in my 20s n 25s age.. both tym got good remission.. and it reenterd in my 34 with a new form like obsession.. pure o.. intrusive thoughts.. again visited my psychiartist he prescribed flouxetine tab 40mg.. now it dose is increased to 80 mg.. . and i got good remission.. bt in the 40 n 60 dose.., i got only partial benefit.and i think i need tohave full dose.. sir here i am asking about the side effect profile of flouxetine in this XXXXXXX dose..
now it has strted 6 months over and i am fully free fromside effect.. it is highly tolerated.

and i need to know about the possible side effect vill presence in future due to the full dose use..

sply anti depressant induced mania and tardive dyskinesia or.any acute movement disorder..

Fluoxetine 80 mg is highest recommended dose of the drug. You have tolerated well. This means you have not any side effects like gastric discomfort, insomnia, anxiety, headache and sexual dysfunction.

In long run you may have weight gain, delayed ejaculation or gastric discomfort which all are reversible at all. Just keep in mind that do not stop drug cold turkey. Reduce it slowly as per doctor's guidance to prevent discontinuation symptoms.
And whenever you need any other drug for other problem just ask inform your doctor that you are taking Fluoxetine to check for drug interactions.

In conclusion you can continue this drug under your doctor's guidance without any hesitation.

i have no such side effect.. i never discontinue tge drug.. cz it is very helpful to me.. the only doubts.. it may leads to antidepressnt mania or any extra movement. problem. like tradive dyskenia.. and history: in my veniz xr150 early usage i hav no such problemss..

Thanks for follow up.

If at all mania is there, it should have been precipitated at 20 mg dose. So there is no chance of mania now.

And movement disorder like tardive dyskinesia is almost never with anti depressant it usually occurs with anti psychotic medicine. Mild tremors may occur but it is uncommon side effect.
