What Are The Side Effects Of Clindamycin?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Nov 2015
Question: On Clindamycin for failed root canal. Supposed to see oral surgeon on Thursday. Have the chills and my neck hurts. I'm assuming this is a reaction to the Clindamycin since my tooth is not hurting anymore. Can I take Benadryl for the weird feeling in my neck/throat.

Brief Answer:
Seems like Allergic reaction to Clindamycin

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...

As per your complain chills and hurting neck can be due to allergic reaction to Clindamycin while it can also be due to Septicemia in case if there is fever along with chills and neck pain as many a times the infection from infected tooth can enter blood and can cause symptoms of chills and mild rise in body temperature while neck pain can also be due swollen lymph nodes..

Kindly answer the following questions so that I can guide you better towards treatment..
1.Is there fever along with chills?
2.Are you experiencing other features like dizziness, fatigue, body aches or itching or rashes?
3.Is the area under the jaw line has some swollen nodes if you palpate with fingers?

Along with it if you would like to give any additional information it is welcome..
Any further questions are also welcome..

Kindly answer soon so that I can guide you better towards treatment..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
