Brief Answer:
I don't think so that there is any risk of HIV infection.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX welcome to HCM. As you have said in your history I don't think there is any risk of HIV infection because in dried blood or hot environment survival of HIV virus is very difficult. As far as other diseases are concerned then I will say there might be some possibility of gastric infection due to poor hygeinic conditions nothing more than that. So no need to worry. Thank you

Brief Answer:
No you don't need to take PEP right now and there is no problem at present.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX I am not sure about your past events, but at present I will assure that you are completely safe from HIV and you don't need to take PEP at all. HIV can be transmitted mainly through sexual contact with an infected person, transfusion of contaminated blood or its products, sharing needles or syringes with someone who is infected, mother to child transmission and by many more other means. The window period for HIV infection ranges from 2 weeks up to 3 months during which antibodies will appear in the blood.

Thank you

Thank you so much for your help. I am kind of relieved now. Can u again say that I don't need to take PEP and I am completely safe from this event. Yes I know this is not even a risk for HIV but I have gone through things in the past that have forced me to think like that. I had sex with a sex worker exactly 1 year ago and I had got tested almost 10 times after that. I got really scared and I just can't move on from that incident. Luckily all the tests that I took were negative so I was safe. Thank you doctor for answering my question. Please could u just assure me again that I am fine and I am not at risk at all !!! Thank you again
