What Are The Repercussions Of The Accidental Consumption Of Expired Ampicillin?

Question: I have been taking ampicillin 500 mg 4 times a day for two days. It expired 5/10/14. I only have 1 dose left. I had a blood test for syphilis yesterday so i will get the results tomorrow. Should i get a prescription for more ampicillin?

Related your concern I think that is better to wait the result and after to start with the best alternative treatment for syphilis with penicillin G benzanthin IM.
Furthermore ampicillin is not one of the recommended antibiotics for treating syphilis but as well since that ampicillin that you have used is out of expire date I think is not effective and you shouldn't continue.
