Question: I'm not sure if my 2.5 yr old accidentally took any of my Advil liquid gels. I found the bottle on top of my purse after I went to the bathroom. She currently has croup and a fever. What signs should I be looking for?

Brief Answer:
Watch out for signs of toxicity

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for asking on this platform,
I can understand your concern.

Advil contains Ibuprofen and the common acute side effects you should watch for are- nausea, vomiting, loose stool, difficulty in urination, any breathing problem, irritability or nervousness.

There may be rashes, sweating or altered sensorial if the child is allergic to ibuprofen.
Most of the time ibuprofen is better tolerated unless consumed in large quantity. The side effects usually appear within 4-8 hours of consumption and rarely may be up to 24 hours.

If you notice any of the above-mentioned symptoms please consult emergency room immediately.

I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Wishing your baby a good health.
Regards
