Brief Answer:
Express your breast milk, store it in the refrigerator, carry it along.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concern. Let me try to answer them one by one:
1. No issues with mixing formula with milk (but what milk?). But an alternative would be to express your breast milk in advance, store it temporarily in the door of the refrigerator (as you add to the amount) and then finally freeze it. You can store this frozen milk for as long as 6 months but once thawed (melted) it has to be consumed on the same day. This should be a better option. In case breast milk is inadequate, formula milk would be the only option. In such a case, you would have to carry warm water along and would have to prepare formula milk by mixing one scoop of fromula in one ounce of warm water.

2. Phenergan is an antiallergic which is given when a child catches cold or has some definite allergic reaction. It has the side effect of increased sleepiness and so it is also used to put babies to sleep. No specific risks other than the sleepiness.

3. Keep the child clean and warm. Carry additional diapers and check the diaper periodically. Carry medicines like Decolic (contains simethicone) which can be given in case the child is crying excessively, possibly due to colics. No other specific suggestion except for ensuring the comfort of the baby.

4. As I have already mentioned, pooling your breast milk and carrying it in the frozen form (along with warm water for thawing) should be the best option. It is only if there is limitation of the scope of this option that the option of formula milk needs to be considered. You would know what is reasonable about the gap and so I would better not comment on this.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
Brief Answer:
Phenergan can be given but is optional

Detailed Answer:
You can give Phenergan if your child is cranky.
Decolic or Colicaid (same composition) help in expelling the excess air swallowed along with food and thus takes care of abdominal distention which may cause discomfort. It is safe to be given.

Thanks Doctor for your advise and suggestions. I will surely follow the same. Storing breastmilk is the best suggestions and it give me some sort of relief. I will surly the store the same and carry it alongwith me.
I wanted to also ask can I give my daughter phenargan if she gets cranky on flight or road journey?
What is Decolic ? Does it have any side effects?
