Brief Answer:

25 parts per billion.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Nitric oxide level of 25 parts per billion is considered adequate in adults.

Higher values may be indicative of inflammation in the respiratory passages as occurring in asthma.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:

Discussion follows

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Nitric oxide is implicated in the causation of chronic sinusitis and its level is lower in the exhaled air in people with chronic rhinosinusitis.

There is some relation to the extent of opacification of the sinuses. Here the inflammation is due to an increase in neutrophils.

In asthma on the other hand the Nitric oxide level may be increased as the inflammation is due to eosinophils and not neutrophils.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
