Brief Answer:
Gestational diabetes (GDM)

Detailed Answer:
You were likely diagnosed with GDM based on criteria similar to the most recent ones recommended by the XXXXXXX Diabetes Association in 2014:

75 gm OGTT: performed in the morning after an overnight fast of at least 8 hours
GDM diagnosed when any of the following plasma glucose values are exceeded:
Fasting: LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 5.1 mmol/l
1 h: LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 10 mmol/l
2 h: LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 8.5 mmol/l

The fact that you surpassed the threshold by having a reading of 9.8 mmol/l most likely at the 2 hour mark, was sufficient to make the diagnosis between 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy

With some lifestyle changes like dietary modification and physical activity I suppose which they may ave recommended, you seem have to have achieved target glucoses under 7

PLASMA GLUCOSE TREATMENT GOALS:

FASTING (on meter or venous sample) = less than 5 mmol/l

BEFORE MEALS = LESS THAN 5.3 mmol/l

1 HOUR AFTER MEAL = LESS THAN 7.8 mmol/l

2 HOURS AFTER MEAL = LESS THAN 6.7 mmol/l

There are several organizations with differing guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment goals of Gestational diabetes. Often, each country/practitioner follows a certain set he or she is comfortable with

All my readings after meal 2 hours have been under 7 so does that mean the problem no longer exists ?

Brief Answer:
Follow up

Detailed Answer:
It means you may have instituted some measures that have kept the glucoses in check. All other targets at the fasting and one hour post meal mark must also be attained.

Whether the condition is gone is tricky question

Imagine someone with high blood pressure who reduces salt intake and exercises and loses weight, and now has normal blood pressure readings. He then decides he does not have high blood pressure anymore and goes back to sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating. His blood pressure rises again

Do you see my point?
