Question: Hello Dr.
My LMP was on 9th of XXXXXXX on 9th of July I felt period like symptoms and did a BHCG test to confirm I'm not pregnant and it came out (0.02) Negative. The same day i started taking primolut n (2 pills morning and 2 pills in the evening) to reschedule my periods. I took it for 10 days and i stopped it waiting for my period but 3 days later i did a BHCG to find the result 120. Is the primolut n that i took harmful to my new baby. I'm worried becauae i took about 40 pills in 10 days i think ots quite a high dose. Some say it can cause dna malformations especially in female fetus. My doctor who prescribed me the pills said not to worry but i can't help it i need a second opinion.
Thank you
doctor

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
No primolut doesnt lead to DNA malformation rather the only problem it causes is male hormones in female fetus but only a slight amount and that too ony if the tablets are taken for more than a month and more so if taken in later months of pregnancy.
So crux is there is nothing to worry and you can carry the pregnancy and enjoy motherhood soon.
Take care.

Thank you for your reply. I am worried because i was pregnant 7 months ago and miscarried at 8 or 9 weeks so I'm asking regarding my misleading BHCG test showing up negative on the day of my period then positive 10 days later. Why is that?
And is my BHCG number 120 at 6 weeks normal or is it low?

Brief Answer:
A very early pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
A value of 120 is low for a 6 week pregnancy but as you had negative test before it means you ovulated a little late so it is not a 6 week pregnancy and most likely a very early pregnancy so showing late on bHCG and urine test.
Just take as much rest as possible and avoid intercourse.
Take tablet folic acid daily and along with that also take tablet duphaston 10 mg thrice a day after discussion with your gynecologist and get an ultrasound after 10 days from now.
Don't be anxious as everything will be fine only.
All the best
