What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy Post A Pull-out Method Intercourse?
Question: I am 42, male. My wife is 31. We have a male child of 5. My wife missed her periods this month and probably due to an unprotected intercourse 3 weeks ago. But I followed the pull out method and still she conceived ( tested positive today with pregnancy test kit). We are planning to go ahead with the conception. My wife is perfectly healthy. But my query is:
1) Is it okay to continue with conception even after the pull out method which may have very less no of sperms went inside the women's body?
2) Will the offspring be as healthy as others? Or there may be chance of unhealthy, defective offspring, like physically/mentally disabled.
3) Is there any risk of such kind of pregnancy?
I may be silly to ask the above question but I am ignorant of these facts. By the way
We will shortly visit a doctor. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Risk same as any other normal event...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
There are no reports of abnormal pregnancy from pull out method. Risks of abnormalities, defects and disabilities are the same from any normal conception. So you need not be overly worried.
You can continue with pregnancy. I will start folic acid supplement which is essential. Tab folvite 5mg once a day is recommended.
Visit a gynecologist whenever possible. Regular antenatal check up, periodic antenatal scans as well as investigations will make sure she has a healthy pregnancy.
Hope this helps.
Regards
