So doctor what treatment I should take to conceive. Please help.
Brief Answer:
STEPS EXPLAINED.
Detailed Answer:
Please follow the steps as below -
1. You are already 37, and after 30, the capacity of a woman to produce good quality and number of eggs declines. Consult an infertility specialist in your city ( I might be able to suggest somebody if you tell me your location ).
Go for an internal exam, Pap smear, pelvic ultrasound scan and hormone tests - FSH, LH, TSH , Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid profile.
2. Reduce your weight by atleast 15 - 20 kg. Consult a dietician and a fitness trainer and have a tailored restricted calories diet chart and proper exercise schedule.
3. Get your husband's semen analysis done.
4. You need to be with him regularly if you wish to conceive. Sporadic intercourse at this age will lead to difficulty in conception.
5. After the exam, please take progesterone withdrawal tablets on prescription by the gynecologist to get a period.
6. When you have your period, in the next cycle, please go for follicular monitoring - tracking of egg follicle with serial scans to check if you are ovulating properly. Also during the days of ovulation, please ensure that you and your husband are sexually active.
7. If 3 - 6 cycles of ovulation monitoring fail, please go for a laparoscopy to check if your tubes are open, and if ovulation is a problem, take ovulation inducing drugs to help conception.
8. Take daily 5 mg per day folic acid tablets.
Take care.
