What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Sep 2014
Question: I gave my boyfriend of a year unprotected oral sex about a month ago. Im a virgin btw and he got tested for hiv and the resilts were negative.Right after i got a sore throat and went to the doctor and they said i had a sinus infection so they gave me amoxiillin to take. Ater a couple days it gave me an oral thrush and i went back to the doctor to give me medicine for that. It went away but my tongue is still kinda white. Last week school started and i have been working out everyday (which i havent in awhile) by doing that i really hurt the left side of my shoulder/neck and theres a little bump. I also have a really heavy bookbag so that can be the cause of it too. Im just really scared i have HIV. Ever since my sinus infection i have had postnasal drip so i was thinking that could be the cause of my white tongue but im not sure. I just need help because im so scared

Brief Answer:
Oral thrush either due toMedicnes or poor immunity

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

I have gone through your history and understand your concern,

As your boyfriend is negative for HIV test when you gave him oral sex, the chance of getting HIV is not possible and no need to worry about HIV infection.

The lump could be due to the sinus infection or the trauma caused by carrying the heavy bag on your shoulder.

The oral thrush is either due to medicine or the poor immunity. Medications can cause oral thrush which should be treated with the help of anti-fungal medication. If it still persists then you should visit your doctor for physical examination and to get a proper treatment.

The white coat might be due to poor immunity. So you need to boost up the immunity by consuming diet rich in proteins and oral multi vitamins for atleast 30 days.

you need not worry about the HIV infection as your partner was negative for HIV infection.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
It may be due to the oral thrush

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,

The post nasal drip may be due to persisted oral thrush, once this improves the symptoms will come down. The mucenix will help to control the secretions and may reduce the post nasal drip.

The boosting up of immunity also helps to control the infection and there by reduces the post nasal drip.
Thank you.
