Brief Answer:
Transformed lymphoblastoids of hematopoetic origin

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Raji cells are basically transformed human hematopoietic ( blood borne ) cell line secondary due to translocation of 8 to 22 chromosomes and are basically early Epstein barr virus induced transformed Lymphoblastoid cells.

No they are not present in every cell and are basically found in malignancies like burkit lymphoma. Experts use these cells in cell cultures to help diagnose many malignancies and genetic expression by using the method called Transfection beyond the scope of this discussion.

For you it is enough that it is an abnormal hematopoietic lymphoblastoid cell not present in all humans and that its presence indicates lymphoma malignancies especially burkit one.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan

I hope it

Thank you greatly for your help. One last question. What is the reference interval for the raji cell assay?

Brief Answer:
Its complicated

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

As i mentioned Raji cells are used in cultures and assays as a tool to measure other antibodies like SLE or AHG ( Aggregated human globulins). One should have at least 6 mugs of AHG / ml of immune complexes to be diagnosed by raji cells C peptides binding.

in SLE and other tetanus immune assays it works the same way. except the fact that pronase treated raji cells bind at Fab portion of raji cells.

these concepts are beyond the scope of your caliber skills and purely an immunohistochemical dilemma better left for immunologists.

What patients like you should know is whether you have any positive aggregate proved by raji cells or whether you have raji cells or not. Thats it.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and hope for the best.

Regards
Khan
