Trying To Conceive, Have Irregular Cycle. Done With Semen Analysis Test. Chances Of Pregnancy?

Question: Doctor,
My wife's last period dates are as follows.
24-DEC-12 38 DAYS
31-JAN-13 33 DAYS
05-MAR-13 29 DAYS
03-APR-13 33 DAYS
06-MAY-13 38 DAYS
13-JUN-13 IN PROGRESS
Is it normal cycle?The last six months we are trying for pregnancy.But it was not successful.I here with attached my Semen Analysis Report for your reference..As per the Report it is normal.Can we consult with a gynachonolgist for futher check ups?
What are the Fertility check ups for women? Does irregular periods may affect pregnanacy?Kindly explain.

Hi XXXXXXX thanks for your query. I read your query and I understand your concerns. Following is my reply : 1) Some womrn do have irregular cycles. But the range you have described is not abnormal and need not be worried. 2) She may be having condition called polycystic ovaries. Please get an ultrasound from infertility specialist to confirm it. 3) She needs a simple test called HSG ( Hysterosalpingogram ) to check patency of fallopian tubes. Due to Irregular periods,the Ovulation day calculation is also difficult.Is there any Ovulation prediction test available in hospitals?

Hi,

Yes it is always better if you can consult an infertility specialist.

There are ovulation prediction kits available in medical stores which your doctor will prescribe for you.

Regular follicular growth scan is another way of knowing accurate time of ovulation and best time to have intercourse.
