Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service

Long term use of benzodiazepines can result in dependence, risk of abuse, cognitive issues, sometimes memory disturbances. But gastric side effects in most cases, though can occur but seen usually in first couple of weeks of therapy. Regular use of very high doses can cause gastric ulcers or gastritis but these side effects are rare.

Ambien helps in sound sleep without compromising the sleep architecture.

If you want to specifically know anything please ask again.

Thanks.
