Question: how to get rid of burnt marks in underarms which happened because of waxing. how do i remove black marks in underarms

I have gone through your query with attached photographs and understand your concern.

The black marks as a result of irritant dermatitis are actually a post inflammatory hyper pigmentation. It should respond to topical steroid treatment. If I was the treating doctor, I would have asked you to use a moderately potent topical steroid like Fluticasone propionate cream (Flutivate cream) twice daily to the affected area for a 7 to 10 days.

Fluticasone propionate is a prescription based cream. Your local doctor / dermatologist will know about it.

Thank you for your prompt response. As you see my only problem is to get rid of those dark spots, in regards to the same I have below questions:

1) As suggested by you, if I use the Fluticasone propionate cream, will it help me in removing the dark spots, and how long would it take?

2) Can't I get this cream over the counter or the prescription is required? If yes, can you please send the same via e-mail.

3) Also at what time I can apply the cream, I mean to ask can I do it once in the morning while coming to the office and hope it will not be a problem if I apply come out in daylight and second time in the evening?

4) Will the scrubbing help me in any way to take off those black spots?

I will give the answer as you asked one by one.

1) Yes,Fluticasone propionate cream is a moderately potent steroid which will prevent dermatitis causing hyper-pigmentation.It might take at least 7 to 10 days to get rid off the black marks.

2) Fluticasone propionate is a prescription based cream. Your local doctor or family physician may prescribe it,if it is taking long time for an appointment with dermatologist.

3) You can apply the cream twice daily (morning evening) but make sure when you apply the cream at armpits,you leave that area naked (for at least 1 hour to have complete absorption through skin) so that your clothes do not touch there which might cause problem with drug absorption.

4) No.Scrubbing will not help you rather it might worsen the condition by causing dermatitis.

I am sorry but you are still not able to understand that a online prescription will not work for you.

The brand name is Flutivate. Generic name is Fluticasone propionate cream. You can go ahead and check with the pharmacy if the cream is available over the counter. If so, you can purchase it. If the pharmacist insists on the prescription, you need to get it from a local physician there.
