Suggest Ways To Reduce Blood Pressure

Question: In the last three ,months my blood pressure has risen from what has always been 120 /70 to 145/90
I just turned 65, I have gained about ten pounds as a minor shoulder injury slowed down my regular exercise. Probably been under a little more stress.....
Do I need to go get meds to bring this down immediately or can I reduce salt, lose 10 pounds, and bring my exercise level back up over the next couple of months. How bad is the risk of waiting?

Brief Answer:
Can wait 3 months with lifestyle changes

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

145/90 is a borderline hypertension, and in this case we recommend our patients to try lifestyle changes for 3-4 months, and start medications only after lifestyle changes are failed to regulate blood pressure.
In your case, you have good chances to regulate your blood pressure with exercise, weight loss and diet, so go ahead, don't worry!

Take care
