Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It is not uncommon to experience pain two or three days after an orthopedic procedure. This can happen partly because of inflammation which occurs after a surgical procedure. This can cause swelling and pain.

postoperative pain for a shoulder surgery should gradually improve for you in the next 5 to 7 days. Your doctor may have prescribed medication for pain and I would recommend that you take this regularly to keep the pain under control. Please make sure to limit your exertion as recommended by your surgeon.

your surgeon has likely provided you with some instructions regarding range of motion and lifting restrictions during the recovery.

If you develop symptoms such as fever or increasing redness around the incision you would like to let your doctor know about this as soon as possible.

I suspect that you will start to experience gradual symptomatic improvement over the next three or four days. Please contact your physician if this does not seem to be the case.

Thank you again for sending the question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
