Question: Hello, im currently 183 pounds after bug weight loss from 240. I got down to 178 an noticed that i was steadily losing a pound a day eating around 1500-1800 calories. However i upped my calories to help cause i felt super weak in the gym stegnth training. Which is why i gain 5 pounds and i also took one day before upping my calories to cheat and had one day of eating foods i wanted but by no means pigged put just when i was hungry at pizza and a burger and a milkshake and fries thats what i ate that day i got down to 13.2%bf according my my scale now at 14.2%. Im hoping the weight i gained was water/muscle. I plan on getting to 10%bf, then put on muscle and hopefully live between 10-13%bf. my question is, is it okay to cut my calories to 1500, and when i get to 10% slowly add 100 calories a week to build lean muscle tissue? Cause i feel like losing a pound a day was not exactly healthy but also didnt feel like i was starving myself either

Brief Answer:
Hi Again!

Detailed Answer:
Did I miss something? I see this is a new query from you.

I do think what we talked about was decreasing it to 1800 calories after I suggested backing all the way to 1600. I thought it sounded like a good compromise.

When your calories are too low, your body metabolized the protein for energy, so there is a delicate balance here. Your high protein diet will defeat itself if we don't get you to a reasonable level soon, but not to quickly.

What are you eating right now and what is your weight doing?

Also, and you probably know this, the percent body fat for a fit man is 14-17. For athletes, yes, a lower body fat of 6-13 is good although I have seen lower.

To decide how fast to increase your calories, tell me exactly what you are eating now and your weights for the past week and let's see if we can figure the safest way to increase, ok?
