Question: I would like to gain weight. I am lean and like a skeleton structured. As of now my weight is 48 kgs and height 158 CM.

Kindly guide me how to go about it.

I have calculated your BMI from the details provided by you. It comes to 19.2. This is on the mid of the Normal weight range.

You can aim to gain 5 to 10 kg that would be 53 - 58 kg to come to the higher side of the normal range.

The best way to gain weight would be through regular physical exercises along with good diet.

A good well balanced high calorie diet is your first step. One that helps in increasing your protein and fat intake. High calorie foods include milk products like cheese, butter, ghee, etc. 3 - 4 regular meals and with 3 snacks are to be taken every day. Our Dietitians here can help you with that.
