HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Ganglions are the most common cysts that occur on the hands. They can be associated with pain in some but in many persons do not cause any symptoms.

If they are not causing any symptoms, treatment consists of simply observing the cyst for any changes.

If they are causing symptoms then the treatment is either to remove the fluid from the cysts, which was done for you or surgical treatment to remove the cyst.

The removal of the cyst is done by an orthopedic doctor. There are some orthopedic doctors who specialise in dealing with the hands but most orthopedic specialists can remove these cysts.

If you are not satisfied with your current orthopedic doctor, you can ask your general physician to refer you to another one who you may make you feel more comfortable.

The removal is normally a simple procedure and they are not usually any complications.

Summary: orthopedic specialist, there are orthopedic specialists who work specifically with hands

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
