Suggest Treatment Of Shooting Pain In Wrist

default
Posted on Mon, 18 May 2015
Question: I have a shooting sort of electrical pain in my wrist. It's been an annoyance mostly, but it also hurts. Now the numbness is moving up my arm. It's numb about an inch higher than it has been. Hoping it's not some sort of clot, but I don't want to overreact and go to the emergency room if it's something silly??

Brief Answer:
Reduced blood supply or nerve compression

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I went through your query and understood your concerns.

With your description of symptoms , its better you need to visit doctor.
I can think of two possible causes, one nerve compression, which needs to be treated to reduce damage to nerve. Secondly reduced blood supply to hand could be from blood vessel block.
Rarely reduced blood supply to part of brain, so its better to visit doctor.

Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further related query.

Thank you for your answer. I will set an appt tomorrow. I'm a little unclear on the last part of your answer, though?? What do you mean by "rarely reduced blood supply to part of brain"?

Brief Answer:
As mentioned below

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for follow up query.

Each part in our body is represented in brain in a systematic way. One of the rare cause for symptoms similar to tingling in hand is reduced blood supply to part of brain which controls hand.
Its a rare possibility but need to be examined.
