Suggest Treatment Of TB Lymphadenitis

Question: During treatment of tb lymphadenitis is it normal that you have another lymph node forming ?Does that suggest surgery or just continue the meds?its almost 6 months since I'm taking tb meds

No this is not normal. Drug resistance should be ruled out first.

Development of new lymph node,is not normal while taking anti tb drugs.
So you need to rule out
1. New lymph node is due to tb or not.
2. Drug resistance tuberculosis.
So get done excision biopsy of new lymph node and culture,sensitivity report for the diagnosis of drug resistance tuberculosis.

It's the same lymph node actually the swelling shrinked before but now it's swollen again.

I'm 130 lbs maybe it's been almost a month

If it's drug resistance what is the treatment? Do I need to go surgery? Thanks for the help doc

Yes,for diagnosis of drug resistance tuberculosis, excision biopsy of the node is needed. And for this you need to get done surgery.

After the 4 combination drug for the first two months the. I was prescribed to take just the rimactazid one tablet for 4 months

I am not having weight loss. I'm finding myself to even lose weight hahaha

I'm not losing weight I'm finding it hard to lose weight
