Suggest Treatment For Yeast Infection On The Penis

default
Posted on Tue, 30 Sep 2014
Question: Hi , I have got yeast infection on the penis head before and was treated with oral anti fungal tablet and cadidia cream and its all gone now (1 month before ) . I had travelled on the weekend and noticed small red bumps on the glans in the morning. I wash the penis head twice daily but on Saturday i did not wash it in morning but later in the day. I had no exposure except my wife and had also tested for STD's all -ve and blood sugar is also -ve.
Just wondering, is this balanitis, after washing for 2 or 3 days these bumps go away . There is no itching or pain.

Brief Answer:
Balanitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

Balanitis can be recurrent specially if both the partners are not treated simultaneously. Itching is subjective and may be absent.

Does your wife suffer from vaginal discharge?Vulval itching?

I would suggest a repeat course of an oral + topical antifungal (for both husband as well as wife)

Moreover, wash the genital area with just plain water and avoid using soaps, antiseptics etc on the delicate genital skin.

Regards

No, she does not suffer from any discharge or itching and all the time we had exposure , we used condom. The doctor had also given her a oral antifungal tablet. I use XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX baby soap to wash.
Would any cream help ? , I used fuscidin before 7 months back and it seemed to work but it reoccured and then was treated for yeast infection.

What is the time taken for balanitis to subside completey.
Is there any treatment needs to be taken ?

Brief Answer:
Either candidal balanitis or latex allergy

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

The possibilities could be a candidal balanitis or it might also be latex allergy. If you still have the condition you may upload a photograph for my evaluation.

However, I would suggest that you use a topical antifungal e.g clotrin-B cream(clotrimazole+beclomethasone combination) twice daily for 7 days and that should be enough.

A single dose of an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150 mg (Forcan 150 mg tablet) is also curative.

I would suggest you to avoid using soaps altogether for cleaning the delicate genital skin. Use plain water rather.

Regards
