Suggest Treatment For Wound Like Spot On Thigh

Posted on Tue, 7 Apr 2015
Question: I have a spot on the back of my thigh and when I first noticed it, it looked like a small circle of rugburn. A month later it has gotten bigger in diameter but the skin is falling off and its raw. They said I have ringworm but I've seen pics on the net, and I don't see a ring. Can ringworm possibly not have a ring? I now have another (looks like a bugbite) spot developing... having a feeling they diagnosed me wrong.

Brief Answer:
Pictures depcits the main possibility of fungal infection only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the spot on the back of your thigh area. After analyzing the pictures with best diligence I can get that you have fungal infection of the affected area.

The kind of flaking of skin and mild redness depicts the main possibility of fungal infection only. Though we require to examine the area in person to exactly confirm the same but even then the possibility of bug bite is out of context. It is because of the reason that in bug bite the affected area is mainly deeply red and there is no flaking. There is moderate to severe irritation in the same and heals within few days by itself.

Do let me know which cream you are applying and any other medication if you are taking for the same.

"Wish you good health"
